MY BOLT ACTION PHOTOS SET TO MY MATES BAND SHORT FUSE

World War 2 German Bunker Scratch Built

Okay i wanted to build World War 2 Bunker from scratch what can i use then i found some polystyrene packaging laying around just cut it up a bit but the shape of it worked really well without to much alterations

Main Bunker

Watch Tower and Yard

I then had to cut a removable roof for the watch tower and an observation hole

Then i thought does this really look like a Bunker and Tower i'll have a look for some pictures

and i found these and even my dodgy looking Tower would work. As the Bunkers were all weird shapes.

So next stage make the hillside and roadway to the tower.I decided to make it look a bit run down like it had either been attacked before or the Germans for once had got a bit lazy maintaining it and also the had to blast the hillside to make a service road to the Tower.

The Service road

Mud Bank and Broken Wall of the Yard

A Blast Hole which has formed a protective ridge
all the bits with the paper mache hills

Now the fun part the painting etc

painting the yard  and walls

the bunker entrance corridor and blast hole
put a base colour on the old tile grout  i used for the blasted rocks

painted all the paper mache brown first

the tower with its removable roof the gap is annoying
the soil wall were the wall has been destroyed

i added some lighter and darker shades for individual concrete slabs and dirt from the rain etc

started to put different shades of brown base paint on

added old tile grout again for some of the rocks left from blasting the hillside

and rocks still in the hillside

darker shades going on

now some green base coat for the grass areas

the road area becoming more defined
adding different shades of brown, grey and brown

the mud in the blast hole

again added light and dark washes to the walls to make it look more like concrete slabs
now i glued some sand to the paper mache and painted it dark brown

then as the dark brown was drying sprinkled the grass flock on it

some sand on the road area which i painted dark brown
i now added different colours to make the blast hole look muddy and algae covered  rocks

some hillside flowers added

some fire steps and steel doors well they will be when i've painted them

big steel sliding door

and the exit door
as the paint was drying for the road i put gravel flock on it and some weeds

started to put moss on the rocks and concrete
added the bunkers front from spare mdf bits
the bunker roof  which will have a flak gun a search light on top

some maps, posters and a portrait of  the Mad Man himself

put a door, weeds and mud around the court yard

an officer arriving

an SS officer and a Stug

now more troops and gaurds

staff car testing the hand brake
guarding the steel door entrance

machine gun squad

inside the Bunker

put some water effects in the blast hole to make it look damp and slimey

The Main Yard

inside the watch tower

on top of the watch tower

the road

the flak gun on top of the bunker
